About

Jonathan Hung is a seasoned venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and educator who has built a career on trust-driven partnerships. As Managing Partner of Entrepreneur Ventures, the venture fund he cofounded with Entrepreneur Media, and President of J Heart Ventures, his family office, he has invested in more than 250 companies and 50 funds. His track record demonstrates a rare combination of governance expertise, strategic growth insight, and cross-border operational experience across the U.S. and Asia.

Before entering venture capital, Hung led his family’s textile business, gaining firsthand knowledge of manufacturing, operations, and international business. That experience, combined with his success in raising millions for venture funds, gave him a foundation in both building companies and supporting others who do. Today, he is recognized as a trusted partner to founders and limited partners alike, deploying capital with accountability and transparency.

Hung’s academic background is as impressive as his career. He holds an MBA from Wharton, a Master of Engineering from MIT, a Master of Science from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelor of Science from USC. Based in Los Angeles, he also serves as an Adjunct Professor, mentoring future entrepreneurs and business leaders with a focus on creativity, resilience, and trust.

With Your Emergency Contact: Why Trust Drives Venture Capital Success, Hung distills the lessons of his journey into a candid, practical guide for founders, investors, and students who want to understand how trust shapes real outcomes.
